Whew.

What a morning...
Miss Bolshoy got this:
90 days of this followed by FORTY months of braces. Yeah, her jaw needs some major help...
Ali G found herself looking like this in the morning:
But now looks a bit like this:

And this is how she will look for the next 24-30 months. She is proud as punch and handled the 1.5 hour appointment VERY well.

And just to show how quickly my little critters are growing up, last weekend we had no plans... we were home for the evening and the girls put on mascara and eye shadow. Whew. They looked all grown up. I told them they could never do this... ever again. EVER. They objected... for hours.
But they told me how cool I was for hours too! Bwahaha

40 months! That's more than 3 YEARS! And Ali will have hers for at least 2 years! WOW. That's a LONG time.

I had mine for 5 years so it seems like a breeze to me. The teeth arent really the issue, its their bites- gigantor over bites on both of them. So correct teeth first, and throw in jaw correction. Blah.

Oh man! Brings me back to the days I got my braces. Liked them in 8th grade...was soooo tired of them by 11th. I didn't wear my retainer as long as I should and got some of my overbite back but they still are better than they would have ever been alone...

Do tell me you won't let them close up Ali's cute litte front gap! I find them so charming and I loathe the anti-diastema tendencies of orthodontists. Bites are one things but everyone's smile shouldn't be the same!

Alright, I see. Compared to yours i understand how theirs seem like a breeze :-) I think both teeth and jaws are corrected more often and more seriously in the US than here. Those I know only had theirs for a year, maybe a year and a half, and it was only to correct teeth. Said by me, who has a slight underbite and a few other issues, inclusing a missing tooth, that were never corrected at all!

Your girls will look even more stunning once it's done though!

Adelise had to wear makeup for her dance recital. I thought she was going to love it, but she thought it was uncomfortable getting it all put on and definitely when taking it off!

At the recital, she passed Josh and said hi three times before he recognized her! Haha!
